But, powder sunscreens are rare to find. As sunscreen comes before base makeup, once you are done with the foundation, you can’t go back to sunscreen without removing all your makeup.
In practical life, it is utterly impossible to do and re-do your base makeup just for the sake of reapplying sunscreen.
These were the reasons I decided to invest in Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte Compact SPF 40 PA+++. Want to know more? Read on!
About Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte Compact SPF 40 PA+++
Lakme Sun Expert Compact contains SPF 40 PA+++ minerals that protects the skin from the damaging effects of the sun. Lakme Sun Expert Compact spreads effortlessly on your skin and gives your skin an ultra-matte finish.
Packaging: This sunscreen compact comes in a bright orangish yellow plastic case. Lakme’s Sun Expert range uses the same colour as their theme colour.
Once you open up the click-open case, there is the pressed sunscreen powder in one side and a round mirror on the other. The packaging, its shape, size and product placement all are exactly same as Lakme’s tinted compacts.
Shade & Texture: Unlike regular tinted pressed powders and setting powders, this compact comes in one universal shade. This compact provides negligible coverage so the one shade fits all complexions.
The powder is finely milled; its texture is smooth. It mattifies the skin without making the skin look chalky. It does not create any annoying white cast as well. It gives a slight bright effect to the skin.
Fragrance: It has a light floral fragrance. Once you apply the powder on the face, the smell vanishes completely.
Quantity & Price: The compact comes at Rs.220 for 7gm. For a broad spectrum sunscreen powder with SPF 40 and PA+++, this is a steal deal.
My Overall Thoughts:
I generally use powder foundations instead of regular compacts. I feel they offer better coverage and their wet and dry formula is more on the creamy side. The only downside with powder compact is, you can’t get the true mattifying effect from them like compacts.
Lakme’s Sun Expert Ultra Matte Compact does provide a perfect matte finish to the face. I don’t use it for setting my makeup. I use it solely for the touch-ups. It instantly mattifies the extra-oily t-zone of mine and adds up on the sun protection effects.
The formula is soft and blendable. It creates an even finish on the skin. It doesn’t have the same smoothness or coverage like a powder foundation but I can definitely compare it to budget-friendly mattifying compacts.
