The mayonnaise in your fridge is more than a bread spread or salad cream. It is also a very effective face mask ingredient.

Gently spread the mayonnaise over your face and leave on for about 20 minutes, then wipe off and rinse with lukewarm water. This face mask would leave your face rejuvenated and feeling smooth.

How do you like your eggs, fried, scrambled, or boiled? Maybe you also like it on your face; an egg face mask is a great facial ingredient, particularly for dry skin. Dry skin needs a beaten egg yolk face mask while oily skin needs egg white with honey and lemon added and normal skin can use the entire egg. Apply the beaten egg to your face and wait for 30 minutes before you rinse off with lukewarm water.

Lemon facemasks exfoliate and moisturise the skin leaving your face fresh and smooth.

Mix the juice from one lemon with a quarter cup of olive oil or sweet almond oil. Leave on for 15-20 minutes, then rinse and dry off with a clean towel.

Yoghurt face mask would cleanse your skin and tighten the pores.

Just rub some plain yoghurt on your face and leave to sit for about 20 minutes. Or, you can also mix a teaspoon of plain yoghurt with the juice from a slice of orange and a teaspoon of aloe vera. Leave the mix on your face for at least five minutes before rinsing off.

These homemade face masks are a great skincare regimen for this stay at home isolation period. You could try any of them if you run out of sheet masks or need a change. What’s even better is that they have been proven to be effective and would definitely work.
